Panerai is helping you take your newest watch on the road.
Well, two timepieces, actually: The brand is offering up an ultra-limited duo of new Radiomirs that come with an exclusive trip that explores the house’s roots in Florence and its storied history with the Italian Navy—the first time the watchmaker has paired two of its pieces with its luxe experiences.
Kicking things off is the new Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01729, which offers up both Panerai’s famed California dial and a 47 mm bronze case, a hallmark of the brand. The black dial shows off Roman numerals on the top half and Arabic numerals on the bottom, a distinct look designed to be legible even in dark conditions thanks to that contrast. The domed crystal here is a callback to vintage dive watches with luminescent Radiomir dials made for the Italian Navy; the PAM01729 offers up a bit of glow, too, with beige Super-LumiNova that shines green in the dark. And that bronze case only adds to the watch’s retro appeal over time: As the piece ages, the case will begin to patina due to its exposure to air, moisture, and heat, creating a unique design as it’s worn time and time again.
Flip things over, and you’ll catch a peek of the P.300 caliber, crafted in Panerai’s Neuchâtel manufacture in Switzerland, through the titanium open caseback, a movement that is equipped with a three-day power reserve. Blue burnished steel hands, a dark-brown leather strap, and slim lugs and a cone-shaped crown, another homage to vintage watches of the mid-1930s and ’40s, complete the look.
The other watch in the set shares similarities to the PAM01729—after all, they are a duo for a reason. The PAM01730, sitting at the identical 47 mm, offers up those same vintage-inspired wire lugs, cone-shaped crown, those blue steel hands, and beige Super-LumiNova. And both pieces, as you’d expect, are water resistant to 100 meters.
But PAM01730, the more modern offering of the duo, has some stand-out elements, too: In a first for the brand, the timepiece has a black circular-brush dial—creating using a rotating-brush technique that allows for each piece to have its own variation and to shift hues in the sunlight. The new watch, with its dark-brown alligator strap, is also made from a special alloy derived from 95 percent pure platinum, giving the timepiece a bit of extra weight and increasing its scratch resistance. The PAM01730 is powered by the brand’s P.3001/10 caliber, with skeletonized bridges that show the balance wheel in action.
Both of these watches can accompany you on the Panerai experience, of course. The journey (which will take place from September 15 to 18), begins in Florence, where Panerai was founded back in 1860. There, you’ll ring in a century of the brand’s boutique in Firenze with an exhibition; you’ll also get to explore the original meeting grounds, training areas, and diving points of the famous Italian frogmen, a special unit of the Italian Navy during World War II known for their daring missions. To finish off your experience, Panerai will whisk you away to the elite naval base, called COMSUBIN, in Porto Venere, where you can embark on a real diving experience (with your new watches in tow, of course) and a yacht tour of the stunning coast.
“We are proud to present a new Experience within the Italianity chapter: a true journey through time, offering our clients an immersive entry into the very genesis of our legend,” Alessandro Ficarelli, Panerai’s chief marketing and product officer, said in a press statement. “This exclusive opportunity is reserved for the owners of the new Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, with both PAM01729 and PAM01730 masterfully reinterpreting some of Panerai’s most iconic Radiomir features. Together, the two new watches not only perpetuate heritage within contemporary design timepieces but also testify Panerai’s unwavering faithfulness to its origins.”
The Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set will be available starting from 2026, with just 30 pairs up for grabs.
