This New 125-Foot Superyacht Concept Is the Longtail of the High Seas

Delta Marine and Roberto Curtò have taken the longtail to the high seas. The American shipyard and the Italian designer just unveiled a new superyacht concept with an extended aft that evokes Le Mans racers of the past and new hypercars. “Inspired by the longtail concept, it recalls the world of aerodynamic forms and elegant performance, reinterpreted through an architectural and marine lens,” the yard said in a statement. The 125-foot Longtail combines Curtò’s signature Italian elegance with Delta’s precision engineering. Sleek, aerodynamic lines run from bow to stern, giving the yacht a dynamic silhouette like the, say, Pagani’s Codalunga. (Coda Lunga is Italian for “long tail.”) “In the finning motion of a long tail, functionality finds its formal elegance,” Curtò adds. As with the longtails by Porsche, McLaren, and the like, the elongated rear isn’t purely for aesthetics. The aft area serves as the social heart, with ample space for entertaining by the sea. At the center lies an extra-large pool with steps on either side leading to the swim platform and the water’s edge. The nearby aft cockpit is fitted with side sofas that slide outward to transform the deck into a dancefloor or panoramic lounge, making the space suitable for any occasion. That isn’t the only spot for al fresco entertaining, of course. The yacht also features open-air lounges on the upper deck and bow. The entire layout is geared toward outdoor living, in fact. The seamless flow between the exterior and interior connects guests to the sea, reflecting Italy’s coastal lifestyle. Delta describes the interior as “both expansive and personal,” with five cabins accommodating up to 10 seafarers. The clean, contemporary aesthetic allows the ocean views to steal the show. Large, rounded windows offer postcard-like vistas on the main deck, while lower windows in the cabins look out over the water. Natural materials and diverse textures appear throughout, giving the living quarters a warm, cozy feel. The sky lounge, for example, showcases natural wall coverings that add more depth to the space. Delta didn’t share any details regarding propulsion, but we assume the 125-foot would pack a punch like the longtails on land.
